This is a direct replacement for the Bachmann 25ft freight car frame. It uses Kadee 803 or 807 On3 couplers mounted at On3 coupler height and has air brakes rather than the vacuum brake cylinder. The only modifications needed on the Bachmann bodies are the buffer blocks need a small amount of trimming, about 0.05" to get the On3 coupler to mount flat. The coupler mount holes may need to be drilled thought the floor depending on the mounting screws used. Kadee HO 148 couplers can also be used to get the look of a "3/4 sized" couple, or the San Juan Model Co. coupler can be used too.
The Western Rails Coupler Adaptor can be used to mount HO couplers at HO height.
